6063 aluminum sheet & plate is a material with magnesium and silicon as the main alloying elements. It features excellent processability, outstanding weldability, extrudability, and plating properties, along with good corrosion resistance and toughness. This alloy is easy to polish, apply color coatings, and exhibits an excellent anodizing effect, making it a typical extrusion alloy.
- Extrudability: One of the key features of 6063 aluminum alloy is its excellent extrudability, which allows for the creation of intricate shapes and designs. This makes it a preferred material for applications that require complex profiles and customized forms.
- Tensile Strength: Approximately 160 MPa – 215 MPa
- Yield Strength: Approximately 110 MPa – 180 MPa
- Elongation: About 8% – 10%
Product Details
6063 aluminum Plate belongs to the Al-Mg-Si series of highly plastic alloys with low alloying. It is widely used in various applications due to its good formability, moderate strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and anodizing properties.
- Heat Treatment Strengthening: It can be strengthened through heat treatment, exhibiting high impact toughness and insensitivity to notches.
- Excellent Thermoplasticity: 6063 aluminum alloy can be rapidly extruded into various profiles with complex structures, thin walls, and hollow shapes, or forged into intricate components due to its outstanding thermoplasticity.
- Welding Performance and Corrosion Resistance: It has excellent welding properties and corrosion resistance. It shows no tendency for stress corrosion cracking, making it the only alloy within heat-treatable aluminum alloys in the Al-Mg-Si series where stress corrosion cracking has not been observed.
- Highly Polished Surface after Processing: The surface of 6063 aluminum becomes very smooth after processing, making it easy to anodize and color.
